As women, we’re all looking to feel in control of our lives and be happy in whatever we’re doing.  Let’s face it – life can be tough enough looking after a gazillion other things, including children, families, partners, working commitments….. the list goes on.

The pain many of us feel is being overwhelmed, overloaded and at times, bone weary.  But still we get up and keep going.

Does this mean we’re empowered? No! Does this mean that we’re tough and keep going?  Maybe.  Could it imply that we’re living life to the fullest and having a ball? Doubtful.

Personal Empowerment is becoming self-aware, finding strength and confidence in ourselves and our lives and taking control of what we do and the decisions we make.

It’s about finding our purpose and being happy, as a woman, in whatever you do, and creating realistic goals to get to where you want to go.

Why is Personal Empowerment especially important for women?

Because mostly, many of us undervalue ourselves.  We spend much time ‘being there’ for others and making sure they’re ok but we forget ourselves in the process.

I’ve worked with women of all ages, life stages and career levels and undervaluing ourselves is a common thread I see all the time.  And the lack of confidence and ability to back ourselves – in our homes, in our jobs, in society.

  • Women take home on average $251.20 less than men each week (full-time adult ordinary earnings).
  • The national gender ‘pay gap’ is 15.3% and has remained stuck between 15 per cent and 19 per cent for the past two decades. Meaning men get paid significantly higher than women do for the same job.
